This Thermolyne FA1730 is a heavy-duty, large capacity 0.7 cubic feet box muffle furnace. It is engineered for heavy duty metal working, industrial heat treating, and organic/inorganic sample ashing up to 1090 degrees Celsius. The chamber measures roughly 9.5" wide x 8.75" high x 13.5" deep with a 6" refractory firebrick insulation barrier. It is rated for 5800 watts, 240V single-phase, 24 amps. The main switch to turn it on and off is inoperable and was never replaced. Instead, a dedicated switch was wired for on/off function in the lab for time of use. Please note one of the bottom door hinges is worn and takes some convincing to seal. The door does seal. Note that the insulation barrier does have some wear. Serial number for the furnace is 85960798101, model FA1730. The operation and repair manual is available for further information. This is a very heavy unit - our best guess is 430 pounds. It is on a small pallet and assistance is available to load it. Overall size is: 26" high, 32" deep and 35" wide.
