The Thermo Scientific PrintMate AS 450 (also distributed under the Epredia brand) is a high-throughput, thermal-transfer tissue cassette printer designed for pathology, histology, and biological laboratories. It focuses on automating specimen tracking and reducing human identification errors directly at the grossing station.  Specifications Capacity: It holds up to 450 cassettes total across a 6-hopper configuration, making it highly adaptable for mid-to-high volume batch operations.  Print Speed: It prints each individual cassette in 10 seconds or less.  Footprint: It has a compact desktop form factor measuring 17 in. x 15 in. x 11.4 in. (435 mm × 380 mm × 290 mm without tubes) and weighs 31 lbs (17 kg).  Electrical Requirements: It operates globally on 100–240 VAC, 50/60 Hz power inputs.  Core Benefits and Features On-Demand and Batch Printing: It easily handles single, on-demand case workflows directly at the grossing bench, but can also run large batches with an optional automated collection system.  Advanced Barcoding: It prints high-resolution, permanent 2D barcodes and text that eliminate the risk of manual handwriting errors.
